The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists

The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Philadelphia Chapter includes trade union members without regard to race, creed, color, national origin, sex, religion or political belief who meets one or more of the requirements for membership in the coalition. With this understanding, one of the primary objectives of the CBTU is to organize Black workers into the trade union movement to improve their economic and social well being and to strengthen the total trade union movement in our society.

CBTU Philadelphia works to utilize and encourage participation in the political and legislative process as a way to educate and improve the community. We advocate social, political, and labor issues of concern to our membership and enhance the quality of life in the community through mentoring, mediation, and education.
